Philosophy

Essex Independent Midwives

As your independent midwife I aim to be ‘with you’ on your journey to meet your new baby. I will support and encourage your efforts to birth your baby in an environment of your choice. I will listen to what you instinctively feel right for you, building on this with research based evidence and a wide midwifery knowledge base. This will enable you to make informed choices as well as trust and value your instincts/feelings around your birth and baby.

I see the value of the support your family/close contacts may bring to your birth experience. It is important that they have information on the birth so that they can assist you. I seek to include all close family in discussions and take time to talk and reassure during the birth as needed.

I am married with two wonderful boys.

As well as my work I enjoy reading walking our dog and going to the cinema when I can.
